The Silver Ring Thing Event

When: March 5, 2014
Time: 7-9 p.m.
Where: JCJC Fine Arts Auditorium

A list of volunteers with contact information is needed no later than February 12, 2014. Groups and individuals can contact the CPC by phone or email to sign up:

(601)428-4355 or sarah@laurelcpc.com or info@laurelcpc.com

The Silver Ring Thing event is only successful because of volunteers. The event brings many young adults that are not currently attending church and are ripe for discipleship.

Will you be the one that extends the hand of fellowship to our youth?

All volunteers working the March 5th event need to be available 2 hours prior to event start. Training is provided by the Silver Ring Crew.

Areas to volunteer:

Merchandise table: 20 volunteers needed

Youth will be able to purchase a silver ring to symbolize their decision to wait. Volunteers will help size the rings. Merchandise table is set up BEFORE and AFTER the event. Please let a staff member know if you can work both shifts or just one!

Counselors: 50-100 Counselors needed

At the end of the event, SRT will share the gospel to those in attendance. The CPC wishes to have counselors on site during this time to discuss and answer questions that those in attendance might have about salvation. Gospel tracts will be available and training will be provided.

Equipment Set-up/Tear down: 4-5 volunteers needed

The SRT equipment can get heavy and volunteers are needed to unload equipment upon the crew’s noon arrival. For those assisting at noon during unloading, lunch is provided. Tear down will occur immediately after the event’s close at 9 p.m. Please let us know which time you will be assisting.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

thank you A big THANK YOU to the churches that helped to raise awareness for Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) observed on Jan. 19th. The Laurel CPC distributed 7,500 bulletin inserts to local churches.

The CPC Staff is very blessed to have each of you along side us as we speak out for the innocent.

“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless;
maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
Rescue the weak and needy;
Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:3-4

We need your help with 2 upcoming events!

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday Observed on January 19, 2014

baby feetHow can you get your community more involved in defending the sanctity of human life?  Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 19, 2014 is your perfect opportunity.

Since 1983, Americans have observed Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) as a day to celebrate the intrinsic value of all human life. This important day also provides an opportunity for pregnancy centers to share about the work they do to bring life-affirming resources to their communities and to empower women and men to choose life for their unborn children.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is held on the Sunday in January that falls closest to the day on which the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions were handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court on Jan. 22, 1973. This year, SOHLS will be observed on January 19.

How can you be involved?

1. Laurel CPC has ordered bulletin inserts for our local churches to pass out. Contact us and let us know how many you need.

2. Promote LIFE throughout the year!

3. Spread the word on Facebook!  Share ideas of what you plan to do in your community…

4. View the Sanctity of Human Life video on YouTube.

5. Contact your local pregnancy center to see how you can help.

Silver Ring Thing at Jones County Junior College March 5, 2014

Silver Ring ThingIt’s been said that if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.
In our meet up, hook-up, break-up culture, it’s hard to stand for something that goes against the flow.
Waiting for marriage can seem almost impossible.

The One Night Stand Tour is empowering students to resist conformity and choose to be different – a godly different.  This is an opportunity to stand apart from the rest of the world and accept God’s calling to something greater.  He wants a generation free of the spiritual, emotional and physical pains of sex outside of marriage.  The One Night Stand Tour is a challenging message of hope, endurance, purity, forgiveness and reconciliation.  It is confirmation that God’s plan is still relevant and achievable today!

The CPC is excited to share that Silver Ring Thing will be coming to JCJC on March 5, 2014.

In order to keep the expense at its very lowest, we are asking that you prayerfully consider sponsoring the SRT event. Your sponsorship allows the CPC and SRT to offer this event FREE to all local youth and college students. This one night could be the difference in a young man or woman’s life! It also opens the doors for follow up with Bible studies related to this topic.

Will you be part of this great event?

Cannot sponsor? It’s okay, we always need volunteers!

– help set-up and break-down the equipment the night of the event.

– work the  SRT registration and merchandise tables.

– provide lunch and dinner to the SRT crew.

If you would like to partner with us, please call Sarah at 601-428-4357 or email sarah@laurelcpc.com

What a great turn out we had this past Sunday even in spite of the weather forecast. It was a joy to join with others to pray for the unborn, families, our community and our nation.

The Laurel CPC wants to extend our appreciation to CrossPointe Community Church for opening its doors for the Pastors’ Luncheon held on September 19, 2013.  It was a great time of fellowship and provided an opportunity for local pastors and youth ministers to learn more about the Laurel CPC. 2014 is going to be a very exciting year for the Center and the community we serve!
